Disaster Looms

Get ready for an epic disaster tale!

I just finished writing a novella featuring my favorite protagonist, the handsome scientist Emerson Crandall. It, of course, includes his clever daughter, Courtney and the adventurous woman he adores (from afar), Maddie. Writing up to 3,000 words a day, I hammered out this disaster-packed story quickly and easily, drawing from my years of daydreaming about it. It’s the third book in the Emerson series, a weird collection of tales that allows me to write any genre I feel like at the moment. So far, he has faced trouble in a paranormal suspense, a serial killer mystery and, now, a tighten-up-your-laces-and-run-like-hell disaster.

Think you can guess the setting? Take a look at the photo for a clue. If you’re a fan of Book #2, For Sissy, you already have a hint. The draft is still fresh, but I can promise you this story is an exciting romp. Poor Emerson can never just have a normal, relaxing life.

The book now needs to ripen. That’s when I allow the excitement of a new draft to dissipate, so when I pick it back up, I’m ready to improve it for publication. While we wait, I’ll return to Book 1 in my mystery series. I’ve received feedback from two beta readers and now will make improvements prior to sending it out to agents and publishers.

That’s the news from this scary corner.
