It took me by surprise.

I didn’t think the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award finalists would be announced until July 25.  But there it was in my inbox, the announcement.  I was both excited and afraid.  I had been waiting for this for five months. Would my book be a finalist?

I read through the list of titles under the Suspense category, “Nope, nope, nope…YES!”

For Sissy is a finalist for the Silver Falchion Award!  Hooray!

Here’s what the Killer Nashville web page says about the contest: “Since 2008, the Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Awards have recognized the best stories from the previous year told through various media utilizing the elements of mystery, thriller, and/or suspense. Judges are professional writers, book reviewers, librarians, academics, and—in specialized cases—specific industry peers. The winners of each category and the overall winner will be announced at the Killer Nashville International Writers’ Conference, August 22-25, 2019. Keep your fingers crossed for me!  Good luck to all finalists!
