A.H. Gilbert likes reading fast-paced, plot-driven books with somewhat odd, but likable characters, and so that’s what she writes. While mostly serious, her quirky sense of humor will slip into her writing at unusual moments.
With a fascination for nature, she might be found in the woods, turning over logs to see what's there, peeking into burrows or trying to identify a bird call. Or you might find her slipping out at night to hunt spiders by flashlight, just for the joy of seeing their eyes sparkle.
She and her husband have a small farm in beautiful Upstate New York, where there are still four distinct seasons. Whether in the snow and mud of winter, the pale, wet greens of spring, the lushness of summer or the crispness of a cool, colorful autumn, she will be outside, caring for the sheep and horses and appreciating the variety and beauty in the world around her.
The Crandall Haunting is her first novel, but not her last! Be on the lookout for her future work, including the continuing adventures of Emerson Crandall.
